Have you ever thought about becoming a yoga teacher or do you just want to learn more about what yoga truly is so that you can improve your personal practice to help you become a better yogi?

Get ready to dive into the depths of your personal yoga practice while acquiring the tools you need to share your experience with others. That's what makes the best yoga teacher and yogi, knowing yourself through your own practice. This course is designed with that goal in mind. It will be very intensive to help you immediately break patterns and habits and to come directly into contact with your true self. That's the goal. That's why we do yoga.

During these four months we will venture deep into our own practice while focusing on anatomy, physiology, asana, pranayama, teaching methodology and yogic philosophy. The course will consist of one intensive week from January 18th till 24th in 2020 followed by six intensive weekends on the following months:
February 8th-9th & 22nd-23rd
March 7th-8th & 21st-22nd
April 4th-5th & 18th-19th

The Course

There are no prerequisites for taking this course but it is highly recommended that you have an existing yoga practice and basic knowledge of yoga in general.

Apart from attending the intensive week and weekends you will be required to practice yoga at least three times per week. It does not have to be at You Can Yoga but your practice must be logged.

All vegetarian meals are included and will be provided by the school.

If you live outside of Amsterdam and need accommodation we will put you in touch with other students that might be able to host you or we will make arrangements at the school.

There will be a written exam at the end of the course and you must score at least 85% as well as pass a practical exam to receive your Yoga Alliance Certified 200H RYT Certificate.

Apart from focusing on the asana practice itself, each weekend that follows the intensive week will have a special theme. We will break up the day with workshops on:

  • The best ways to implement yoga into your daily life
  • Safely sharing your yoga practice with others
  • Deconstructing the sun salutations

Jason Revere

Jason has been on the yoga path for two decades now. His interest started with meditation when he was a teenager which led him to his own self created yoga practice at home. Not happy with what he found in books he decided to go to India and study at the source. There the real inward journey began. Knowing that not everyone is on a spiritual path, but everyone can benefit from yoga, he decided to create a space where yoga is made accessible for everyone. No dogma, just yoga. We are all free to find what we need from yoga whether its relief from stress or pain or just a way to ease your mind. Jason also offers Yoga Coaching. If you want to go further, all you need to do is ask. Otherwise, just enjoy the mat.


Gretchen Yoga

Gretchen Garnett

Gretchen has been in love with movement since she took her first dance class at the age of four. Since then she has been moving, experimenting, creating and teaching movement in many different forms. She received a diploma in Contemporary Dance from the North Carolina School of the Arts and a B.F.A. in Dance from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. While living in San Francisco she performed, choreographed and fell in love with yoga at the Laughing Lotus Yoga Center, where she completed her Vinyasa teacher training.

Mary has been practicing yoga for over thirty years. She moved to Amsterdam after living in New York City as a technologist, artist and single mother of two. She attributes her yoga practice to her sustained energy, flexibility, and fearless spirit. With a love of active sports and road warrior travel, she relied on yoga for stamina, balance, and restoration. Her classes integrate the physical alignment of vinyasa flow with Hatha / Iyengar based asana and a spirit of playfulness. Her goal is to have students step off the mat refreshed, nourished and balanced.


Serge Yoga

Fall down 7 times, stand up 8." This Japanese saying summarizes Serge’s philosophy of life and his approach to yoga. After 15 years of very diverse professional experiences (working in banking and the jewellery industry for instance) and 12 years of varied yoga practice all around the world (Bikram, Vinyasa, Ashtanga, Yin…), Serge decided to start teaching yoga and sharing the many lessons learned on the winding road of life. He has dedicated himself to yoga getting many certifications and studying with renowned teachers along the way. His personal teaching style is fun, accessible for everyone and has his special French touch.

Ashwini Babu

Ashwini discovered yoga at a very young age during her school days in India and immediately fell in love with it. She built her initial practice by doing yoga and meditation at a temple located in a peaceful hamlet in Southern India. She practiced different styles of Yoga around the world before deciding to go on a Yogic pilgrimage to Mysore, India to learn the traditional form of Vinyasa Yoga. Her classes incorporate a combination of Asanas, Pranayama, and Meditation with safe & proper alignments, preparations, and props for students. Ashwini’s teaching is aimed at creating an awareness that Yoga is the perfect opportunity to be curious about who we truly are. She is also passionate about Yoga philosophy, Reiki, and Ayurveda.

Lucía García

The desire to listen to her inner voice brought Lucia to India and Nepal. She traveled through buddhist monasteries to learn dharma and their ancestral meditation techniques and then completed two trainings in the prestigious Ayurveda Univesity in Jamnagar, India. Followed by an intensive internship in Amala Ayurveda Hospital, Kerala. The crux of Lucia´s work is to help you to reconnect the mind, body and soul balance with her knowledge and years of experience. Lucia helps you to identify what matters most to you, what has been limiting you and then to design a personalized action plan to help you move forward.

Vera Kaye

Vera fell in love with yoga during her studies as a theatre performer and, after having been a teacher for years (physical education and sports, outdoor sports, theatre), the logical next step became to combine her love for yoga with that other old flame: teaching. She teaches Yin, Yin Yang, Restorative and Hot Yoga. She also teaches stage technique for professional theatre performers/singers. An important part of her teaching is connecting the voice to the body. This method is the foundation of her Vocal Presence workshops for yoga teachers.

A deposit of €495 is required upon registration. This deposit is refundable until November 31st 2019 and the rest can be paid in three monthly instalments throughout the duration of the course.

Space is limited to only 15 students so please register as soon as you are sure you want to attend. Upon registration there will be a one on one meeting with Jason to discuss your goals and motivation for the course.

Prior to the course date there will be an orientation, this way you can be best prepared for whats to come.

I found You Can Yoga studio a few years ago and since then have never thought of changing it for another studio. The Yoga Teacher Training of You Can Yoga was for me an extremely good - and intensive - way to deepen my yoga practice. We started with the fulltime week, which really made me focus on only this. Loved it!
The group was small and close, which is different compared to other trainings I did. Not just being trained as a yoga teacher together, but also having breakfast/dinner, sharing our practice and the things we were working on.

The Yoga Teacher Training was a great blend of asana practice, anatomy, breathing, meditation, and philosophy, ayurveda and most importantly for me, a true guide into the self-realization. During the 4 months course, You Can Yoga Studio was as a second home for us. A save space where Jason, Gianuario, the teachers, special guests and the students discussed the different practices and disciples accomplishing the essence of Yoga and why they are important.
We practiced hard, we studied harder, we cried, we laughed and we were challenged to get out of our comfort zone at times and face our worst enemies: Ourselves! I feel that this journey of self-realization and whatever that entitles for me is not over. The training was just the door opening to the beginning of this undoubtedly gift that I made to myself few months ago.

After trying one too many large and poorly supervised yoga classes through Onefit, I stumbled across this cosy but excellent yoga school in Zuid and I'm still thankful for it. The school has two locations, both with a wide variety of classes throughout the day. Teachers are kind, experienced and really show passion and compassion during class. As they limit the number of participants, classes are never too big or impersonal.

The program is intensive and suitable for new yogi’s and teachers who like to polish their skills and deepen their practice.
