Yin Yoga Workshop

A combination of Yin yoga and self-massage with a continuous focus on the inside.

The purpose of this workshop is to slow down your whole being and shift the focus inwards. Leaving the distractions in your everyday life to feel and change your inner world.
Our busy lives and racing minds can send us spiralling in many directions. We often forget to take a moment for ourselves, whatever the reason is. Taking rest and taking care of yourself is important. As the saying goes: you can't pour from an empty cup. This is the time you van offer yourself to fill up that cup again and get closer to your true nature. With Yin yoga we take the time to rediscover what it means to turn down the volume of our activities and become a little quieter. With the self-massage we keep the focus on the inside while different tissues in the body are being massaged. As always your yoga happens on the inside.

Tennis balls massage

The Yin part will be all about the hips and the legs. Targeting different area's here and different mediridians. Fall is here and nature enters a new cycle of change. This can be seen as an intivtation to go inwards, cause our energy also changes as the season changes. Deepening the practice and activating meridians by staying longer in the yin poses and by massaging the tissue around the meridians. There wil be options to turn the Yin poses into Restorative poses for those who wants to do & feel less.

We will start the workshop by arriving in our bodies in a relaxed pose and by focussing on the breath. Then I will guide you to use the tennisballs to massage yourself. You will pressure vertain lines in the body that would also be masaged when getting a Thai massage. You will be shown different ways of massaging these lines, so you can apply different kinds of pressure. This way you can feel for yourself which part of the body is more tense and needs more attention and release. What you will learn in this workshop, you can also apply at home whenever you feel the need. Then resting in savasana to close the practice by resting in the state the practice has opened up.

So let's shift the focus from the outside world to that universe that opens up inside us when we close our eyes. Making a journey within, uncovering all that is stuck and tense and becoming open to whatever comes up on this Saturday afternoon. Allow yourself to let go of whatever wants to be released. The goal is to have you leave the studio lighter than you enter.

Sim Sidhu

Sim started her first Vinyasa teacher training simply because she wanted to know more about yoga. After experiencing several different styles and workshops she really wanted to broaden her horizons. During this training she had to teach as well: something she didn't really want to do, but ended up liking it a lot! After that she went on to study Hatha yoga in India. Upon her return to Amsterdam so continued her study with yoga. She likes to teach now because she found it has been a very good way to get to know her own body, mind and spirit better. She teaches from the perspective that every body is different. One of her favorite quotes, from Bernie Clark, is "We don't use the body to get into the pose, we use the pose to get into the body”.


The workshop will last about 2.5 hours and there will be tea and snacks with Sim at the end to answer any questions that you may have or just to get to know each other a bit better. It will cost €30 and space is limited so please sign in below.
