In yoga we believe that we have two bodies, one physical and one energetic, or astral body. Are you curious to learn more about this other energetic body? Then come join us on a journey into the chakra system. The chakras are energy centers that connect us to our astral body and they can also support us in understanding ourselves, thriving physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. In this workshop, we'll explore the seven main chakras in the body and how they each promote health and bring harmony to different aspects of our lives.
The workshop begins with an overview of the chakra system and its function. Then we’ll look at basic theory for each of the seven main chakras and explore specific yoga poses (asana) and breathing techniques (pranayama) to turn theory into practice. After learning some tools for how to balance each chakra, we’ll do a meditation together to reconnect with our physical body and chakra system.
About the Teachers
Erika and Kelly are friends and fellow yoga teachers in Amsterdam. Erika teaches Hatha, Vinyasa and Pilates with us at You Can Yoga and Kelly has a background in yin & restorative yoga . Both of them are passionate about connecting their practice on the mat to their studies and lives off the mat. We are very excited to have them come together to share their combined knowledge, years of teaching, and appreciation for yoga philosophy in this workshop.
The workshop will last about 2 hours and there will be tea and snacks with the teachers at the end to answer any questions that you may have or just to get to know each other a bit better. It will cost €30 and space is limited so please sign in below.
